Casual Lead Facilitators/Trainers for cultural competency training - beyond diversity


Are you an experienced facilitator or trainer? Are you passionate about diversity and inclusion? Beyond Diversity is the Community Migrant Resource Centre’s new cultural competency training program, supporting organisations and teams to work more inclusively and effectively with newly arrived migrants and refugees. Over the past year, Beyond Diversity has been delivered with great success to local and state government, health and homelessness services and other not-for- profits. Now, we are seeking experienced facilitators and trainers to join our team to support the rapid growth of this unique and exciting training program.

Established in 1996, the Community Migrant Resource Centre (CMRC) was formed to support newly arrived migrants through the coordination, development and delivery of services that meet the specific needs of migrants, refugees and newly arrived communities.

CMRC’s ORGANISATIONAL OBJECTIVE

To provide high quality services, settlement information, support and advocacy to migrants and refugees in order to facilitate successful integration into the broader fabric of Australian society.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the delivery of customised Beyond Diversity cultural competency training across a
    range of organisational settings.
  •  Assist program manager to customise training for different organisational settings,
    challenges and needs.
  •  Establish and build strong, positive relationships with training participants, and ensure a
    safe and trusting environment for delivery of sensitive content.
  •  Manage any tensions or conflicts that may arise with or between training participants.
  •  Work collaboratively with co-facilitator, providing support and opportunities for capacity
    building.
  •  Maintain records and participate in the evaluation of training workshops.
  • Attend necessary training, supervision and program development workshops when
    required.

REQUIRMENTS

  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment is desirable.
  •  Demonstrated experience delivering training to adults in a variety of settings.
  • Qualifications and/or extensive experience in the community sector working with refugee,
    migrant and CALD communities.
  •  Demonstrated experience delivering training to adults in a variety of settings.
  • Comprehensive understanding of cultural competency needs and challenges of the settlement, community, health and government sectors – and flexibility to adapt training to suit different settings.
  • Highly developed oral communication skills.
  • Adaptability and reliability.
  • A willingness to adhere to and support the Mission, Vision and Ethos of CMRC, and the unique approach of Beyond Diversity.
  • Current driver’s license preferable.
