Help us fundraise to make a difference

The Community Migrant Resource Centre (CMRC) is inviting businesses, politicians, community leaders and people from all backgrounds to partake in a fundraising dinner that aims to support the effective settlement and participation of people from refugee and migrant backgrounds.

Ahead of the 20th Anniversary event, the Executive Director of the CMRC, Melissa Monteiro highlights its importance, “the event will celebrate 20 years of the Centre serving refugee and migrant communities, as well as the heritage, culture and contributions of those communities to Australian society.”

Melissa Monteiro also added that “the dinner is aiming to raise funds to establish and develop a social enterprise incubator program for at risk migrant and refugee women as a means for them to have access to gainful employment.”

To be held on the 1st of February at the PARKROYAL Parramatta, this formal event will provide a platform for organisations and individuals to:

·       Meet corporate social responsibility outcomes

·       Network with leaders from various sectors and communities

·       Support the ongoing sustainability of CMRC’s social enterprise projects like the Fair Go Driving School

·       Help the CMRC continue to provide capacity building services to refugee and migrant communities

The formal celebration will feature live entertainment, artistic displays, a 3 course dinner and a live auction to fundraise for a social enterprise incubator for migrant and refugee women.  

Melissa Monteiro reflected on the 20 years of service delivered by the centre, stating that “our vision is a just, equal and inclusive society where individuals are valued, contributing and self-sufficient members of the Australian community.”
