The Book Marker Project is a collaborative community arts project supported by the Community Migrant Resource Centre and Parramatta Library to celebrate and recognise Refugee Week. http://www.refugeeweek.org.au/
The project will showcase the artworks and stories of 10 refugee Artists on a bookmark which will be distributed throughout the libraries in Western Sydney and the Hills District.
The project will take place over 2 months and collaboratively work with the artists through a series of mediums including film, photography, and storytelling to share the stories of the artists.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
• Individual Artists from a refugee background (either a refugee or has a family member who is a refugee) who seek opportunities to showcase their skills and achieve public exposure for their work. Artists must be comfortable with sharing their story and artwork with the community in celebration of Refugee Week.
• The artist or community group must be 18 years and over to apply.
• 1-2 Artists will be selected from a different ethnic/racial background, representing the history of Australian Refugee Intake.
